Epic Confirms Unreal Tournament Cancellation

Epic has officially confirmed that Unreal Tournament is no longer in active development. There haven't been any updates in quite a few months on the long-running Unreal Tournament Reboot, and since Epic is making millions from Fortnite it is no surprise that they have shuttered the project.

The Unreal Tournament Team is also the primary team behind the Battle Royale mode of Fortnite.

Epic CEO told Variety "Unreal Tournament remains available in the store but isn’t actively developed."

"We’ve recently worked with GOG on making classic Epic Games titles available and we’re planning to bring more of them to the store in their original glory."

At least the Unreal name still lives on in their Engine.
