Fortnite World Cup 2019 Finals - What's happening and how to watch
With a $30 million prize pool, and it being hosted in New York City at the 23,000-seat Arthur Ashe Stadium—the same venue used for the US Open—the Fortnite World Cup Finals are set to be a spectacle.
The Fortnite World Cup began in April this year and had ten weekly online qualifiers that ran from April 13 to June 16. Out of those players the top 100 solo players and the top 50 duos around the world are travelling to New York for the Fortnite World Cup finals.
Each player will be guaranteed at least $50,000, and the solo champion will be awarded $3 million.
The World Cup will have a Solo, Duos, Creative, and Pro-Am tournament.
The format is the same for both duos and solos, where they will all play in six matches. Points will be earned after each match based on their placing and how many kills they managed to get. After the matches, the player or team with the most points will be crowned the winner.
The duo-team winners will split the $3 million, while the solo player winner will keep it all.
For the Creative tournament, 8 teams of 4 will play multiple Creative games as they compete for the title of Creative Champion. The Pro-Am will consist of 50 celebrities and 50 pro gamers paired-up to play for a $3 million charity prize pool.
