Released to coincide with this weekend's Masters Tournament, the official PGA Tour golf game returns to EA for the first time since 2015's Rory McIlroy PGA Tour.

The game introduces several new features such as a new gameplay system called Pure Strike, which incorporates parts of a golf shot. It also features integration with ShotLink, the PGA Tour’s statistics tool as well as TrackMan.

Playable tour players will include Cameron Champ, Tony Finau, Nelly Korda, Hideki Matsuyama, Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Im Sung-jae and Lexi Thompson.

The game features 30 courses at release, including, for the first time since Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14, Augusta National Golf Club, home of the Masters.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

(Xbox X|S) | 12 April

One year after its time exclusive PS5 and Windows PC release, Ghostwire: Tokyo makes its Xbox console debut on the 12th.

The action-adventure game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks is played from a first-person perspective. The player uses various psychic and paranormal abilities to defeat the ghosts and spirits haunting Tokyo. Combat director Shinichiro Hara described the combat as "karate meets magic", as the player character utilizes hand movements inspired by Kuji-kiri hand gestures to cast spells.

Ghostwire: Tokyo comes to Xbox consoles and Game Pass Console with the full Spider's Thread Update:

  • A challenging new roguelite mode, The Spider’s Thread, where players must fight floor-by-floor to reach the end, while uncovering a mysterious new story
  • Haunting new areas to explore in the main game—including the eerie Middle School—and new missions to unravel • New and expanded main story cutscenes
  • Deeper combat: avoid enemy attacks with the new Quick Dodge and Perfect Block Counter-Attack; strike from above with new aerial abilities; master powerful new Charge Rush Ethereal Weaving techniques; and utilize new talismans to aid you in battle
  • New enemy Visitors to test your skills
  • Expanded Photo Mode: add stamps to your screenshots, and use Meika to unlock figures at capsule machines to add their models to use in Photo Mode

Minecraft Legends

(Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox X|S) | 18 April

Minecraft Legends is an action strategy video game that has strategic elements at its core, with mechanics inspired by action games. It is explored from a third-person perspective. The game features both cooperative and competitive multiplayer.

The game takes place in the Minecraft universe during an invasion by the piglins from the Nether. As the Nether spreads its corruption across the Overworld, a great hero (the player) brings their banner to save the Overworld and bring together its mobs to help defend their home. The events Legends take place in are neither fact nor fiction in the Minecraft universe, but rather take place in a tale that has been passed down through generations.

Dead Island 2

(PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox X|S, PC) | 21 April

Almost 10 years since its announcement, the development troubled third installment of the Dead Island franchise makes its eventual arrival this month.

Developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver, it is a sequel to the 2011's Dead Island. Set about 10 years after the events of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide, Dead Island 2 differentiates itself from its predecessors by taking place in the city of Los Angeles, which has been quarantined due to the zombie outbreak. The open-world environments also include parts of San Francisco. While the game's combat has different mechanics than its predecessors, Dead Island 2 does include several features from its predecessors, such as the "rage" and crafting systems.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox

(Xbox X|S, PC) | 27 April

Fight demons, solve puzzles, and more in The Last Case of Benedict Fox, a labyrinthian adventure game from Plot Twist inspired by Lovecraft's nightmares, noir pulp fiction, and early 20th-century jazz music.

Descend into a limbo of decaying memories as Benedict Fox, a self-proclaimed detective bound to his demon companion. Use that unholy bond to explore the minds of the recently deceased in search of clues as you uncover the mysteries of a massive, decrepit mansion — the site to a young couple's grisly murder, and the disappearance of their child. Immerse yourself in a dark, intriguing world full of secret organizations, forbidden rituals, and cold-blooded crimes in an arcane adventure brought to life through a fascinating Burton-esque art style.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

(PS5, Xbox X|S, PC) | 28 April

The much anticipated sequel to the 2019 hit single-player game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order releases at the end of the month.

The story of Cal Kestis continues in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a third-person, galaxy-spanning, action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. This narratively driven, single-player title picks up 5 years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and follows Cal’s increasingly desperate fight as the galaxy descends further into darkness.

Pushed to the edges of the galaxy by the Empire, Cal will find himself surrounded by threats new and familiar. As one of the last surviving Jedi Knights, Cal is driven to make a stand during the galaxy’s darkest times — but how far is he willing to go to protect himself, his crew, and the legacy of the Jedi Order?

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor maintains many of the gameplay elements from its predecessor with new gameplay elements added. The level design of Jedi: Survivor features larger, more expansive maps populated with more NPCs. The design of planets like Koboh have also been made more open and expansive compared to Fallen Order.

Scattered throughout planets are Jedi Chamber Trials for the player to discover which have been compared to the Shrines from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Jedi Chamber Trials feature puzzles and challenges for the player to complete which will provide rewards such as skill points for the player to upgrade their skill tree.

Player cosmetic customization options have been greatly expanded in Survivor over the limited ponchos options in Fallen Order. Jedi: Survivor allows the player to customize Cal's appearance with entire changes to his outfits. In IGN's February 2023 gameplay preview, Cal opens a loot chest containing a leather bomber jacket in addition to the Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo outfits that are available with pre-ordering the game and the deluxe edition of the game. Cal's hairstyles and facial hair are also customisable cosmetic items.
