Godsbane

Godsbane is a South African developed table-top themed, 1 vs 1 auto battler. You collect a range of units and powers to overpower and dominate your opponent. The game was released on March 4, 2022.

An auto battler is also referred to as auto chess. It is a strategy genre that has chess like features in which players have a grid-shaped battlefield, like chess, and characters fight the opposing teams. The games are usually of a battle royal style and the genre was made popular by Dota Auto Chess and Hearthstone's Battlegrounds.

The difference between other auto battlers and Godsbane, is that it has done away with the usual battle royal type play in favour of a 1 vs 1 experience. This should allow for more a more strategy focused game.

Here the player has to chose or create their own custom unit pool prior to the start of a match. Your opponents will not change between rounds which allows you to plan without fear that you will be switched to a new unknown opponent.

Be sure to plan well. Each unit can only be moved a limited number of spaces in each round. Plan ahead and maneuver your units into spaces that give you the upper hand over your opponent.
