Have you ever played some AAA title and wanted something different? Something more unique. Something that isn't afraid to tell a difficult story. A game that is wonderfully unique and different? Well then my friend, let me welcome you to the world of Indie Gaming!
This week, our Indie spotlight falls on another list of games available on different platforms. Have a look at these games. Who knows, you might just find the diamond in the rough you've been looking for.
North
In North, you play as a man trying to find asylum in a city with many mysteries. The game consists of puzzle solving and exploring the gorgeous world. It deals with a lot of elements of the refugee crisis in Europe, and will ask some difficult and thought-provoking questions.
The Long Reach
The Long Reach takes place in New Hampshire, in the fictional town of Baervox. The game draws its inspiration from Lone Survivor and The Cave and other adventure games. Expect lots of violence, lots of intrigue, and a great retro sound track
Last Day of June
Another Nindie (Nintendo Indie) game that sure looks great. It's got a really nice artistic look, almost like you're playing in a painting. But don't be fooled, this game will gut punch you with it's subject matter, and the questions it asks of you. Created as an interactive adventure, Last Day of June will take players on a profound and poignant journey.
Surviving Mars
Surviving Mars takes the city-building genre to the red planet. Here you must create the most efficient and best performing cities. The game features a retro-futuristic aesthetic, randomized research trees, individually simulated colonists and many more features.
These games all looks great, and hides some hard-hitting questions underneath those pretty exteriors. Have a look and let us know which one do you fancy the most.
