In the game players take control of what is left of humanity after a cataclysmic event on Earth. Your challenge is to guide humanity to a new home in a space in a city-building game with survival elements and exploration thrown in for good measure. Can you make the difficult choices Administrator?
IXION is taking part in the steam next-fest so if the nature of the game strikes your fancy you should be able to try a demo from next week (February 21st – 28th).
The space station design is inspired by NASA's studies in the 70s. This is what gives the space station its donut shape.
IXION aims to tell a story while being a city-building game in which players build a space station. This is done by having different chapters that the story progresses through. The way that players handle the different survival elements and exploration can lead to different outcomes.

You'll have to explore to discover resources and rescue survivors. Resources will be required to build structures within your station and most importantly to ensure the integrity of your station's hull remains intact. All while keeping the power levels of your space base Tiqqun balanced and keeping your crew happy enough to maintain their trust else they might just drop you off in space. There will be research to do, unlocking new buildings to construct and new ways of providing for your populace. You need more power, research and solar panels.
Players will be faced with narrative story elements and will have to make tough decisions in order to progress the story.
