Railway Empire 2 is a railway tycoon management simulator where players can control the world of the railroad revolution. Choose from sprawling maps across Europe or North America and grow your network with a selection of 60 historic locomotives. With expansive regional maps, improved track construction, and real-time terraforming, there’s no better time to unleash your inner conductor.
Just like the first Railway Empire, the new game spans 100 years beginning in 1830, a time period referred to as the "golden age of steam locomotives."
The goal of Railway Empire 2 is to become the world's greatest railroad tycoon, and players will have more space in which to expand their empire. The game features full maps of the US and Europe, with over 120 cities and towns, and 400 farms and mines to connect routes to.
Single player game modes include a 5-chapter campaign, 14 scenarios, free play, and construction modes. Players can also team up with other budding railroad tycoons in a cooperative multiplayer mode for up to 4 players.

The land also adapts to your track layout as your tracks cross mountains, valley and plains.
Enjoy the view: Ride along your train and see the landscape rush by from the inside of the wagons or from the front seat in the driver’s compartment of the steam engine.

Railway Empire 2 features bigger, more detailed and lively maps than ever before. The whole of the US and continental Europe are covered in two huge, sprawling maps*, whilst more detailed maps put the focus on specific regions of each continent. Improved track construction helps you focus on the important decisions as you drive the economy and help the growth of the cities.
Choose from 6 different characters to lead your railway company, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Play the 5-chapter campaign or choose from any of the 14 different scenarios. Set your own difficulty in the fully customisable Free Play mode or build the perfect rail network in construction mode. Tackle the competition of your railway empire together with friends in Co-op Multiplayer*. You can also board one of your trains* and gaze upon the scenery passing by as the iron horse speeds along the tracks while you sit back and enjoy the view.

Railway Empire 2 is coming to Game Pass on release day, 25 May.
The game will also release for purchase on PC (Steam, Epic, Windows), Xbox consoles, and PlayStation consoles on 25 May. A Switch edition will arrive later in the year.
With not totally outrageous Regional Pricing on PC (Standard and R575 and Deluxe @R750), pre-release buyers can also get an additional 10% off those prices if they purchase before the game releases on 25 May.
