The Surge 2 Pre-alpha Gameplay Trailer
Publisher Focus Home Interactive has released a new (pre-alpha) trailer for the upcoming Sci-Fi action game The Surge 2. The trailer doesn't really show anything different than the first gameplay we got to see during E3 this year, but it's still worth a look.
The trailer showcases the new Park sector, located in the middle of a city ravaged by the events of The Surge. Devious mercenaries called The Hunters roam the artificial, man-made forest, searching for a powerful creature. Beware their traps, their cunning cloaking devices, and most of all, the out-of-control former park guardians.
The Surge 2 keeps what fans and critics loved about the original – hardcore combat utilizing a unique, dynamic limb targeting system and deep character progression – while also improving the formula. The Surge 2 takes place in a brand new environment: a sprawling, devastated city with larger and more ambitious level design, made possible by Deck13’s upgraded and improved FLEDGE engine. Combat is more brutal and tactical than ever, with more advanced dodging, directional parrying, and unique AI behaviors. In addition, more abilities, weapons, implants, and drones give players a vast arsenal to build their character with, in their fight against the array of diverse new enemies and bosses.
The game definitely seems to be coming along well. It really does look like they have made some proper improvements from the first game. The combat looks a lot faster and a lot more polished. It seems to still have that "heavy feel", but without being as clunky as it sometimes is in the original game.
The Surge 2 does not have a confirmed release date yest, but it is slated to release some time during 2019. 2019 is shaping up to be a big one for action (RPG) fans with The Surge 2, Nioh 2 and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice , to mention a few, all releasing in the same year.
