For the first time in back-to-back years, Call of Duty returns with a direct sequel as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III picks up immediately following the events of 2022's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The new game experience is scheduled to be released worldwide on Friday, 10 November.

At the Treyarch Black Ops 4 reveal earlier many of the rumours were confirmed: battle royale and zombie modes, and no single player campaign. A major surprise was the next Call of Duty will be exclusive to Blizzard's Battle.net, and will not be getting a Steam release at all.
